The Legend of the Dragon
The Great Race
According to Chinese legend, the Jade Emperor organized a race to determine the order of the zodiac animals. The Dragon, being divine and capable of flight, was expected to win the race easily.
However, on the day of the race, the Dragon stopped to make rain for a village suffering from drought and then helped the Rabbit by blowing it to shore with its breath. Due to these good deeds, the Dragon arrived fifth in the race, after the Rat, Ox, Tiger, and Rabbit.
